General FAQs

Are our services available throughout the entire UK?
At the present time our services are available in 90% of the UK, but our business continues to expand.

How do I book an Installation Service?
You can book our installation services by filling out our booking form online today.

When do I pay for the installation?
When you book your installation services online or via the phone, we will ask for a low deposit to secure the installation service.

When do I pay the balance?
Once the job is finished and you are completely satisfied with the work done, you will pay the remaining balance directly to the cooker hood engineer.

What form of payment does the cooker hood engineer accept?
When the job is completed to your satisfaction you will pay the balance owed to your cooker electrician using either cash or Banker draft and some of our electricians do accept credit card payments.

If I end up cancelling the appointment will my deposit be refunded?
Yes, if you have to cancel the job we will refund 100% of the deposit. You will receive a credit for that amount to the account from which the deposit was paid. 

Are rectifying existing faults included in my installation service?
No! Your installation service will cover the items stated on the website for your installation service package.

What if my existing faults turns out to be more complicated than what the order provided for?
You and your cooker hood engineer will discuss what needs to be done and agree on the necessary changes. Your cooker hood engineer will give you a quote for the additional costs rectifying the existing fault before starting the installation. A charge will be applied for the engineer’s time if the quote is not accepted, but will be refunded if the job is completed by the cooker hood engineer.

 

Will the engineer give me a test certificate?
Yes, our cooker hood engineers are all qualified to issue our customers an electrical test certificate of all the work he/she completes during the installation.

 

Will there be parts that I need to purchase to have the cooker hood installed?
It is highly unlikely that you would need to provide any parts. However, you should read the material provided on the scope of work you are having done, whether you are ordering services separately or purchasing a fixed price bundle. If not specifically listed, you can assume that your engineer will bring all the tools, equipment, supplies, and parts needed to install your cooker hood.

 

Why do you not offer to travel to the home first to provide a free quote?
In all honesty, quotes are rarely free since the engineer must add at least £60 to £80 to the cost of the job just for providing the quote. With the use of today’s technology to send photos and video, along with our extensive knowledge of the electrics involved in installing cooker hoods, we can offer an accurate quote without visiting the home in person. In the end, this just saves you money.  

 

Replacement Hood Installation FAQs

What do you include in your service?
Our cooker hood engineer will come to your home with all the tools and equipment needed to remove your cooker hood and install a like-for-like replacement. The new cooker hood will be connected to your existing vent pipe if you have one and be connected as well to your existing electrical points. If alterations are needed you might save money by looking into our fixed price bundles.

 

Recycled or Ducted Installation FAQs

 

Should my new cooker hood be on recycled mode?
It is your choice; otherwise you can program your new cooker hood to vent the smoke, heat and humidity outside.  

Would you recommend recycled or ducted?
If you program your cooker hood to “recycle mode” you can save money on the cost of having a vent hole cut into your wall and the installation cost of ducting it to the outside wall. There are benefits to ducting the flumes of your cooker hood to the outside because it will remove the smoke, heat and humidity from the house, sending it all outside.

 

New Cooker Hood Installation FAQs

What do you include in your service?
Our cooker hood engineer will come to your home with all the tools and equipment needed to put together and install your new cooker hood using the appropriate installation protocol.

Will I need specialised electrical work?
99% of all new cooker hood installations are going to require a new electrical circuit in order to provide power to the cooker hood. This is one of the two costs that could vary from our fixed price. The price of installation would depend on where your cooker hood is located and where the engineer obtains the electrical circuit, varying from a low of £65 up to £265. Will a hole need to be cut in the wall ?
In order to vent the smoke, heat and humidity to the outside there will need to be a hole cut into the outside wall. The engineer would do this with a diamond-cutting machine at a cost of £145. Will I need ducting?
Cooker hoods are either recycled back into the kitchen or more often, vented to the outside. We have given you a minimum of £85.00 and the maximum price of £180.00 that the cooker hood enineer will be allow to charge you. Our cooker hood engineer can install the ducting if you want the smoke, heat and humidity to be vented to the outside. Fixed Price Bundle FAQs

What are fixed price bundles?
You have the option of purchasing each service separately (i.e. electrical, cutting the vent hole and installing the ducting) or selecting one of our fixed price bundles. For our bundles, we have three different packages that essentially cover 95% of the work needed on our cooker hood installations. When you purchase a bundle, you will be covered for all aspects of the installation, saving you money over paying for separate services. Can’t find what you are looking for, what should I do?
If you are unable to find what you need on our website please email us for an accurate quote on a fixed price. All we need is some basic information about what you need, your post code and a photo or video of your existing cooker hood and the surrounding kitchen area. We also need the model number of the new cooker hood you want installed. You will then hear back from us within 48 hours with a fixed price quote.
